If a gene for depression was identified, would you perform PIGD (pre-implantation genetic diagnosis) in order to select a child who did not carry the allele for depression? Share your thoughts.

Under certain cifrcumstances I believe that use of PIGD would be helpful somewhat.
Yes I would perform PIGD becuase depression is a medical condition. Screening for depression would help reduce medical costs and prevent stress and problems for the child and family.
Yes I would, as well as for any other physical or mental disorder. I believe everyone wants the best for their children, and even though PIGD won't ensure everything, it would give my child a fighting chance.
Yes, I would use PIGD, because I want the best for my child. Happiness is what parents want for their children, and depression will destroy that dream. Thus, if the chances of getting depression are close to zero, then parents will be less anxious about their children's happiness. Children gain their confidence from their parents, and if the parents are not confident about their child's welface, then that feeling of nonconfidence will rub off on the children. Nevertheless, parents should continue to monitor and encourage children like before, and never assume that the depression factor is gone.
Maybe, I would perform PIGD, the reason is, PIGD can help for better conditions to the child because the PIGD is good to prevent depression.
